The Sixth Grade visited the EV History Center on May 3rd, after a historical walk uptown. Their teachers, Mrs. Pilkington and Mr. Mewes, wanted them to view the exhibits and hear some of the community stories that are available there.

sunny day with her students. This highly regarded teacher at English Valleys
will be retiring this year after teaching for 37 years. She will be greatly missed by all.

Mr. Trent Reedy spoke to the elementary on February 21, about his recently released book "Words in the Dust." He also talked with the students about his love of reading and writing, and he encouraged them to enjoy these fine skills, too. Afterwards, he signed copies of his book that had been ordered by many of the students.

Preparing to say the Pledge of Allegiance to open the Iowa House General Session on March 15, the Grove boys were ready. Their father, Dan Grove, is in the background, and they are the grandsons of Betty De Boef, the district #76 representative to the Iowa House.
Elementary students bringing in the coins they collected for Haiti relief to the MidWestOne bank. They raised $1173.08 to help with relief efforts there, and they enjoyed watching all the coins go through the coin machine.
